Stay Active, Play Safe, Stay Safe!
Langley City's Recreation Department has put together a list of resources (videos and links) for the community to help you stay active, stay healthy, stay engaged, and stay connected while at home.
Langley City Fitness staff are missing you! Some of your favorite instructors have put together workouts for you to do at home so you can keep your body moving and spirits high. If you are new to fitness or have been ill or injured please complete Par Q+ fitness assessment before you exercise.
If you answered NO to all of the questions in the Par Q+ fitness assessment, you are cleared for physical activity.
- Delay becoming more active if: You have a temporary illness such as a cold or fever; it is best to wait until you feel better.
- If you are pregnant - talk to your health care practitioner before becoming more physically active.
- If your health changes talk to your doctor before continuing with any physical activity program.
- You are encouraged to start slowly and build up gradually - 20 to 60 minutes of low to moderate intensity exercise, 3-5 days per week including aerobic and muscle strengthening exercise
- As you progress, you should aim to accumulate 150 minutes or more of moderate intensity physical activity per week.
- We encourage you to complete this form at least once a year to ensure that you are prepared for physical activity, and please modify any of these online fitness classes to meet your own personal fitness levels, drink lots of water, have fun and stay safe!
If you answered YES to one or more of the questions in the Par Q+ fitness assessment about your medical condition you should seek further information before becoming more physically active please visit a medical professional and obtain clearance to exercise.

This dynamic, flowing practice combines strength, flexibility, balance and endurance. Pilates is a method of exercise that consists of low-impact flexibility and muscular strength and endurance movements. Pilates emphasizes proper postural alignment, core strength and muscle balance.
