The City of Langley Library is a part of the Fraser Valley Regional Library (FVRL). FVRL is the largest public library system in British Columbia, with 25 community libraries serving 700,000 people in its service area. The City of Langley Library offers almost 17,000 square feet of collections and services.

The City of Langley Library is opened to the public with COVID-19 safety protocols in place. The current hours of operation are Monday to Thursday, 9:00 am - 8:00 pm, and Friday to Saturday, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Sunday 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Telephone service is provided during those hours via 604-514-2850, and many resources and services are available on their website at www.fvrl.ca. An adapted version of the FVRL Express holds pickup service is available for customers who prefer a more contactless experience.

Library Cards are Free

As a resident of Langley, your library card is free. You can sign up online or in-person during open hours. Membership is free to all residents and includes:

  • Access to a collection of over 1.5 million items
  • 24/7 access to online library services at www.fvrl.ca
  • Virtual programs, including storytimes and babytimes
  • In person events and programs for all ages (currently suspended)
  • Professional reference and information services 
  • Free Internet access
  • Access to reading materials for home-bound residents through our Outreach services

What you’ll find at your library

Our collection includes current and popular materials for all ages. In addition to books, you’ll find magazines, Blu-rays, DVDs, CD music and audio books, maps, language learning resources, newspapers and more. Find eBooks, eAudio Books, online magazines, Lynda.com, sheet music, language instruction and other online resources through Digital Content.

Monday – Thursday 9:00 am to 8:00 pm
Friday – Saturday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
Sunday 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Computer Resources

The City of Langley Library provides computer and Internet access, including word processing and printing. The library site is wireless-enabled so that you can use your own laptop or device to link to the library's website and the Internet. Call or visit for details.

Information Resources are available 24 hours a day at www.fvrl.ca.

Your virtual library is always open and easily accessible from home or office.

FVRL puts on over 7,800 programs every year; young or old, there is a program for everyone. Choose from educational and literacy programs, general interest programs, author readings, book clubs, conversation circles and more. All programs are free.
