City Council is looking for one (1) individual with an interest in serving a three-year term from 2022-2024. Meetings are usually scheduled at 7pm on the fourth Wednesday of the month; however only occur on an ‘as needed’ basis. Members are advised two weeks in advance of scheduled meetings.

Crime Prevention Task Group: The City’s Crime Prevention Task Group is mandated to educate the public about crime prevention and the protection of property and is tasked with initiatives such as creating messaging about crime prevention, promoting the importance of community connectedness, promoting and educating business owners and residents about existing RCMP programs and sharing information about crime prevention with the greater public. This group is seeking volunteers to fill three (3) Community Member at Large positions and one (1) Youth Representative position (aged 15-24). If you are action-oriented and have the time and energy to commit to project planning and promotion, please apply. Meetings are generally the last Thursday of each month at 6pm.

Environmental Task Group: The City’s Environmental Task Group is mandated to prioritize, evaluate and develop a business case for the implementation of various environmental initiatives and programs that relate to the protection and enhancement of the environment. The group is seeking a volunteer to fill one (1) Community Member at Large position, one (1) Youth Representative (aged 15-24) position and one (1) Post-Secondary Institution Member position.
