2019 TRI-IT Triathlon

Registration is now open for the 19th Annual TRI-IT Triathlon.  In addition to participants, we are still looking for Race Captains, Course Marshals, Volunteers and Sponsors to help make this event the most successful one yet!

TRI-IT TRAINING (15+ years)

Whether you are a beginner attempting a Triathlon for the first time or a seasoned Triathlete looking for extra motivation and training tips- this program is for you!  Work with a certified Triathlon coach to build endurance in all 3 sports (swimming, biking, running), learn overall strategy and improve your swimming techniques and stroke efficiency.

* Relay Teams May Consist of 2 or 3 members
        - follow same routes and start times as Adult Race
        - teams  will have a designated Swimmer, Cyclist and Runner; teams of 2 will have
          one member complete 2 components of the race.

** Early Bird Registration includes a 2019 Event T-shirt

Race Package Pick-up

Race Package Pick-up will be available:

Thursday June 6  5:00pm - 8:00pm  Al Anderson Memorial Pool -Multipurpose Room

Friday June 7   6:00am - 9:30pm       Al Anderson Memorial Pool - Reception

Saturday June 8  9:30am - 8:00pm   Al Anderson Memorial Pool - Reception

Race packages include your race number bib, event t-shirt and other important race day information- please pick up your package prior to race day to ensure you are all set for race day.  Packages not picked up prior to race day will be available at the Registration Tent starting at 7:00am

Please ensure you bring your completed waiver form in order to receive your race package.


We need your help!  The TRI-IT Triathlon relies heavily on the support of volunteers to ensure this is a fun and safe event for all.  Race day duties include:

  • set up & clean up crew
  • timing crew
  • course marshalls
  • registration, body marking, package pick up
  • finish line greeters
  • transition area monitors
  • general information

All volunteers will receive water, snacks and be entered in to win fabulous draw prizes!

Youth Orientation

Thursday June 6   6:00 - 7:00pm    Al Anderson Memorial Pool

All youth participants (along with a caregiver) are encouraged to attend the orientation meeting as we will be reviewing:

- Swim protocol (where to start,how many laps, equipment permitted)

-Transition area - where to keep your bike, change of clothes etc.

-Cycling & Run Routes

-Tips and Safety Rules

Bring your bike to the orientation and visit the Caps Bicycle Tent to get a complimentary safety check!

Bike Checks

Caps Bicycles Langley will be providing free bike safety checks during race package pick-up:

(picnic area near back parking lot)

Show your race number for a complimentary bike inspection.


Caps Bicycles will be available at the TRI-IT Triathlon for quick repair and safety checks starting at 7:00am.


Race Day Events

6:30am - 12:00pm    Langley Flippers Hosted BBQ
Bring your change because you won't want to miss out on the Langley
                                  Flippers BBQ!  Coffee, Juice, Granola Bars to get your morning started
                                  followed by burgers & hotdogs.

7:00am - 9:15am      Registration Tent & Body Marking Open
Pick up your timing chip and get your body marking done.  Race
                                  packages not picked up prior will be available at the Registration Tent.

7:00am - 10:00am    Caps Bicycles Maintenance Tent Open
Flat tire?  Loose break cable?  Stop in at the Caps Bicycle tent for last
                                  minute safety checks and minor bike repairs.

7:45am                     Youth Participants on the pool deck
All youth racers must be on the pool deck with their timing chips and
                                  body marking complete.  Review of rules, etiquette and fitness warm-up.

8:00am                     Youth Races Begin!

9:15am                     Adult, Classic & Relay Team Participants on the pool deck
All 15+yrs racers on the pool deck with timing chips and body marking
                                  complete. Review protocol, routes and fitness warm-up.

9:30am                     Adult, Classic & Relay Team Races Begin!

For 19 years the City of Langley TRI-IT Triathlon has been proud to be an inclusive, community-based race open to all!  We believe that participation in sport has tremendous health, mental and social benefits for all - especially our youth.  The TRI-IT Committee believes that no child should be left on the side-lines which is why all net proceeds of the TRI-IT Triathlon will be donated to KidSport Langley.  Help us give the gift of sport to our local kids by sponsoring the 2019 TRI-IT Triathlon.

There's no better way to show your company's community support than helping our Youth get involved in sport.  As a sponsor you will receive promotion and representation through print media, race posters, event t-shirts and social media.  Sponsors are also invited to attend the 2019 event to promote their business and expand your community recognition and involvement.
