City Announces Vaccination Policy

Date

For Immediate Release

Langley City, BC – Many municipalities have started to implement COVID-19 vaccination policies across the province. After careful and significant consideration, the City has recently notified staff that all employees, contractors, and volunteers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by January 24, 2022.

“The City of Langley is committed to providing a safe workplace for staff, volunteers, contractors, and members of the public who may use our services,” said Chief Administrative Officer Francis Cheung. “We expect the public to provide proof of vaccination to use many of our services within our facilities, and we want our citizens to know that we are requiring our employees, contractors, and volunteers to meet the same requirements to keep everyone safe within our community.”

The City will accommodate individuals who require an exemption from the policy on the basis of a protected ground under the BC Human Rights Code. The City of Langley continues to follow public health orders and guidance from the Provincial Government, Fraser Health, and WorkSafeBC and makes decisions with respect to safety protocols, pandemic response, and restart activities in the context of health and safety.
