Community spirit shines at Langley City's Community Day

Date

Langley City, B.C. Langley City’s Community Day 2025 was once again a big success and one for the history books, bringing together nearly 10,000 guests to Douglas Park. Families, friends, and neighbours came together for a full day of fun, connections, and community pride. This year’s event was extra special as the City celebrated its 70th anniversary.

“We’re incredibly proud of how the community came together to celebrate this milestone year,” said Kim Hilton, Director of Arts, Culture, and Community Services. “From the new activities to the strong turnout, Community Day 2025 truly reflected the spirit and energy of Langley City.”

New attractions and expanded family fun

New attractions this year included a soaring 260-foot long zipline experience which was enjoyed by nearly 600 guests, a roaming 70th anniversary photobooth, new family-friendly activities, and two Science World On the Road Show demonstrations that brought smiles all throughout the day.

Bike valet and safety education a hit

The free and secure Bike Valet was a success, increasing usership by double over the previous year, reducing the number of vehicles taken to the event and promoting environmental sustainability. The valet also offered storage of strollers, scooters & e-bikes and provided bike safety education and resources to help prevent theft and promote safe cycling in the community.

Community support and local fundraising

The City proudly supported Douglas Park Elementary School, which ran a food and beverage concession stand as a fundraiser, helping to raise money for school programs.

The City extends heartfelt thanks to the many volunteers, staff, and community members who made the event possible, as well as to the event’s generous partners and gold and silver sponsors:

  • Partners: Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival, Shop Local BC
  • Gold Sponsor: BCLC
  • Silver Sponsors: Christian Life Assembly, Langley Advance Times
  • Bronze Sponsors: Bosley's by Pet Valu, Bria Communities - Magnolia Gardens, Canadian Vocational Training Centre, Canlan Ice Sports Twin Rinks, CJ Tennis Coaching Inc, Evergreen Rehab and Wellness, Garry Voigt Real Estate, Nando's PERi PERi, Nature's Fare Market, New Directions English Language School, Planet Fitness

Langley City’s Community Day event is a much-loved annual community event, and we’re excited to continue the tradition next year!
