Before submitting a request application, please review the steps outlined below to ensure that your event, sport tournament, or sport clinic meets the eligibility criteria and that you understand the permit application process.
Does your event, sport tournament, or sport clinic match the following criteria:
Located in a Langley City public space such as parks, plazas, and roads.
Inclusive is the design and delivery of the event.
Takes place once a year or infrequently.
Ensure that Federal and Provincial laws, permits and requirements, and City policies, by-laws and guidelines are followed including public safety.
Complies with all current public health guidelines.
Please complete the online application form by clicking the appropriate link below to get started. Once the form is submitted, it will be emailed directly to our team and the review process will begin.
City staff will review your request to determine whether your event is eligible for a permit within four (4) to six (6) weeks of submission.
If your event is eligible, you will receive an email requesting additional event details, outlining any required supporting documents, and explaining the next steps in the process.
If the City is unable to accommodate your event, you will be notified by email and provided with an explanation of the decision.
Once preliminary approval is granted, you will receive a tentative contract and may proceed with event planning.
The tentative contract will include the applicable terms and conditions, as well as clear deadlines for submitting required supporting documentation and payment deadlines.
If required (as determined by the City), a site meeting will be scheduled to review your event plans, including the event layout, safety considerations, parking arrangements, and other logistical details. This meeting will also serve as a venue orientation.
Once all required supporting documents have been submitted and payments to the City (including facility rentals and any additional support item fees) have been received, you will be issued final approval along with your event permit.
