The Provincial Home Owner Grant Program reduces the amount of property taxes you pay each year on your principal residence.
If you are living at your property and are eligible, ensure you complete your Home Owner Grant application before the tax due date to avoid penalities and interest. The Home Owner Grant is a Provincial Government program offsets the school taxes on your tax notice. By claiming your Home Owner Grant, you are reducing your tax bill by $570 or $845 if you are over 65 years old at any point in the current tax year.
