Comfort Letters

A comfort letter is a summary of property information based on City of Langley records. It includes the following information:

  • Zoning classification
  • Active business licenses registered to the property
  • Issue dates and descriptions of major building permits available in the City records
  • Details of the most recent fire inspection

How to Request a Comfort Letter

To obtain a comfort letter, submit a written request along with payment to the City of Langley using one of these methods:

    *Payment: Include a cheque payable to "City of Langley."
  • Email:

    *Payment: Planning staff will provide instructions for paying by credit card (credit card payment is available with a 2.2% processing fee).

Fee

$200.00, including taxes.

Processing Time

Requests for comfort letters are typically processed within 10 business days from the receipt of both the application and payment.
