NEW! Registration Changes for Swimming Lessons
We're excited to increase access to swim lessons for 2025 with an enhanced registration process!
Due to demand and popularity of our swimming, we are making the following improvements to the registration process:
- Adding skills as a pre-requisite to a customer's profile in the registration system as a requirement for aquatic lessons. (This change will prevent single individuals from registering into multiple levels at once, which will result in a higher number of participants successfully registering for a lesson.)
- Adding additional registration dates for swimming lessons, a spring registration date and a summer registration date. By having two registration dates it will provide a fair and equitable registration process for all.
- Enabling swimming lesson registration online as well as in person and over the phone.

Proof of Pre-requisites
To ensure children are registered in the appropriate swimming level for their age and ability, proof of pre-requisites and skill level completion will be required to complete an online, over the phone or in-person registration. This will ensure the safety of all participants in a successful learning environment.
When registering online, customers should ensure they have an up-to-date Recreation account and provide the recreation department with the previous completed swimming level. If a participant has taken swim lessons last season at Al Anderson Memorial Pool and have not taken any swim lesson since then, your previous swim lesson is recorded in the system and no further action is required. If a participant completed a swim level at a different aquatic facility, your previous swim level will not be recorded in our system and you will need to provide proof of skill level before you register.
How to Submit Your Pre-requisites
To provide pre-requisite completion, submit a lesson report card by:
- Providing it in person at Timms Community Centre or Al Anderson Memorial Pool
- Emailing swim@langleycity.ca with the participant's name and a photo of the report card. Please ensure the photo includes the participant's name and the last level they have passed.
If you are unsure whether the pre-requisites are in the system, contact us at recreation@langleycity.ca or call 604.514.2940.
