Accessibility In Our Community
Did you know Langley City offers a support worker pass for their recreation facilities?
What is a Support Worker Pass? The pass is available for individuals, 16+ years old*, that provide support to a client who has a disability or requires additional assistance to participate in a recreation program at one of our facilities. Support workers are able to participate alongside their companion; however, they should not be doing their own independent program or activity.*Note: if the client is using the weight room the support worker must be 19+ years old.
How do I sign up for a Support Worker Pass? Call us at 604.514.2940 or visit us in person at Timms Community Centre, located at 20399 Douglas Crescent.
Langley City offers a wheelchair basketball 'learn to play' program in partnership with the Fraser Valley Wheelchair Sports Club on Thursday evenings at Timms Community Centre. The program runs from September to May, taking a break for the summer from June to August; this is subject to change.
New participants are welcome to join the program and all of the equipment is available to participate. The program is open to people with a disability and people who are able-bodied.
