Public engagement for Invest Langley City is now complete for the two proposed facilities, including:
- An expanded Al Anderson Memorial Pool (allowing for year-round operations)
- An expanded Timms Community Centre (with a new Performing Arts and Cultural Centre)
For next steps, Council will:
- Refine the vote questions based on community feedback, so they are clear and easy to understand for voters
- Consider whether to move forward with a non-binding vote to ask if planning should continue for both facilities during the October municipal election
These two facilities are:
Al Anderson Memorial Pool
Expanding the existing outdoor pool and making possible renovations to the existing facility to provie year-round leisure, fitness, and expanded recreation opportunities for all ages.
Timms/Performing Arts and Cultural Centre
Expanding the exisiting Timms Community Centre combined with a Performing Arts and Cultural Centre to provide additional recreation programs, create a hub for cultural and artistic expression, and attract newcomers and tourists.
