Water Quality & Conservation

The City of Langley gets its water from Metro Vancouver’s Greater Vancouver Water District, which sources its supply from Coquitlam Lake, located in the mountains to the north. This water is treated and transported through a network of underground pipes that cross the Fraser River and travel through Port Coquitlam, Pitt Meadows, the Township of Langley, and Surrey before reaching Langley.

Langley’s main reservoir is located at 200A Street and 47A Avenue. It is as large as a football field and holds 22,700,000 liters of water. This size allows the City to maintain its water supply for extended periods, especially in case of a major water main break.

Low Water Pressure

If your home is experiencing low water pressure, you may want to check the Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) to ensure that the screen in this unit is clean. Your PRV is cone-shaped and should be located at or near where the water service enters your house. If low water pressure persists, please call a plumber.
