In accordance with section 464(3) of the Local Government Act, the City must not hold a Public Hearing for this application. This is due to the change to Provincial housing legislation, adopted by the Province of BC on November 30, 2023, that prohibits local governments from holding public hearings for rezoning applications for residential developments that are consistent with the local government’s Official Community Plan (OCP).

This rezoning application, proposing a 6-storey, 80-unit apartment building, is consistent with the City of Langley Official Community Plan.
