Current Exhibition: A step above cultural gallery
Friendship
April 10 - May 21, 2026
Friendship can look many different ways, and in this exhibition, children and youth show us how creative and meaningful those connections can be. Through drawings of friends, loved ones, favourite activities, shared snacks, and beloved pets, each artwork tells its own story.
Some artists show moments of joy, like playing sports or spending time together. Others capture the comfort of favourite foods shared with friends, or the companionship of animals. There are also imaginative works where friendship is expressed through characters and ideas beyond everyday life.
Together, these artworks remind us that friendship is not just about who we are with, but how we feel—supported, happy, and understood. Whether real or imagined, friendships help us learn from one another, create and share ideas, and feel a sense of belonging.
LOOK, THINK, CREATE!
As an additional feature to the Children's Friendship Exhibition, a FREE Activity Booklet is available from the front desk at Timms Community Centre or you can DOWNLOAD a copy here. Printed copies are available while quantities last.

The Free Little Art Gallery
Location: Timms Community Centre (20399 Douglas Crescent)
Facilitated By: Langley City and Finding Present
The Free Little Art Gallery Langley is a community-driven initiative designed to provide a no-cost, accessible space where youth can display, share, and take home artwork without oversight or judgment. Inspired by the growing movement of Free Little Art Galleries across North America and the Lower Mainland. The Langley City Free Little Art Gallery (FLAG) for Youth is the 2nd Youth specific FLAG in B.C. and the first on this side of the Fraser River.
This project offers a miniature display case/cabinet where young artists can proudly showcase their creations in a public setting. Much like the well-known Little Free Libraries, this gallery also operates on a “take one, leave one” model and includes free art supplies such as sketchbooks, markers, paints, and brushes for youth who may face financial or material barriers to participation.
