Nature Around Us

May 22 – Jul 2, 2026

Nature Around Us is a community exhibition that celebrates the beauty, diversity, and quiet details of the natural world through the eyes of local artists. From peaceful landscapes and blooming gardens to wildlife and changing seasons, the exhibition reflects the many ways nature continues to inspire creativity within the community. Each artwork offers a personal interpretation of the environments that surround and connect us.

Featuring primarily watercolour, acrylic, and oil paintings, the collection brings together a variety of styles, techniques, and artistic perspectives. Soft washes of colour, layered textures, and expressive brushwork capture moments of calm, movement, and atmosphere found in nature. Through these works, visitors are invited to slow down, observe more closely, and appreciate the everyday beauty present in the world around them.

The Free Little Art Gallery

Location: Timms Community Centre (20399 Douglas Crescent)
Facilitated By: Langley City and Finding Present

The Free Little Art Gallery Langley is a community-driven initiative that provides a no-cost, accessible space where youth can display, share, and take home artwork without oversight or judgment. Inspired by the growing movement of Free Little Art Galleries across North America and the Lower Mainland. The Langley City Free Little Art Gallery (FLAG) for Youth is the 2nd Youth specific FLAG in B.C. and the first on this side of the Fraser River.

This project offers a miniature display case/cabinet where young artists can proudly showcase their creations in a public setting. Much like the well-known Little Free Libraries, this gallery operates on a “take one, leave one” model and provides free art supplies, such as sketchbooks, markers, paints, and brushes, for youth who may face financial or material barriers to participation.
