FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Langley, BC — Community safety is a key priority for Langley City. As part of the City’s commitment to building a vibrant, safe, and inclusive community, Langley City Fire Rescue Service is proud to participate in Fire Prevention Week™ (FPW™), taking place October 5 to 11, 2025.
This year’s theme, “Charge into Fire Safety™: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home,” focuses on how residents can safely buy, charge, and recycle lithium-ion batteries, found in everyday devices like phones, laptops, and power tools.
“Lithium-ion batteries are powerful, convenient, and they’re just about everywhere, from phones and laptops to power tools and toys,” said Captain Perry, Fire Prevention Officer. “But with that convenience comes risk. This year’s campaign is about helping residents recognize those risks and take simple, practical steps to prevent fires in their homes. Fire safety starts with awareness, and we’re here to support our community in making safer choices every day.”
