Langley City Invites Residents to Shape Safety, Health, and Well-Being Through New Citizens’ Assembly

Date

Langley, B.C. – Langley City is excited to announce the launch of its Citizens’ Assembly on community safety, health and well-being. This initiative allows residents to directly influence Langley City's future and shape its policies.

Empowering Citizens to Improve Safety and Well-Being

The Citizens’ Assembly will focus on challenges related to safety, housing, and local services. The goal is to find solutions based on what matters most to Langley City residents.

The Assembly will bring residents together to share ideas, learn about challenges, and create solutions. This ensures that policies reflect the needs of the community.

“Positive change happens when we come together, share our unique experiences, and exchange ideas in a meaningful way,” said Mayor Nathan Pachal. "Improving community safety requires solutions created by Langley City citizens, for Langley City citizens. I’m confident Langley City Council will carefully consider the Assembly's recommendations and act on them as appropriate."

Representing Langley City Residents

The Assembly will include participants chosen to reflect the current makeup of Langley City. By bringing together a wide range of voices from the community, we will ensure we have outcomes that truly reflect our community's values and priorities.

Once the Citizens’ Assembly develops its recommendations, these will be shared with Langley City Council for review.
