Sounds of Summer is a lively, multi-week outdoor concert series celebrating music of all kinds. Each week features two live bands, showcasing a wide range of genres—from classic rock and pop to blues, funk, and more. These free concerts are open to all ages, making it the perfect way to enjoy summer evenings with friends, family, and the community.
NEW THIS YEAR! On concert nights, the park also hosts the Langley Community Farmers Market with 20+ vendors, offering a rotating mix of artisan goods, local products, and food options that change each week.

Band: Cookin' With Brass

Cookin’ with Brass is a high-energy brass band that transforms Top 40 hits into an irresistible, family-friendly New Orleans-style street party. Blending the sounds of traditional brass bands with R&B, blues, funk, jazz, rock, and pop, they deliver a powerful groove that gets audiences of all ages moving.
With a repertoire that spans generations—from Motown classics like “I Want You Back” by The Jackson 5 to contemporary favourites by Bruno Mars, alongside beloved New Orleans brass standards—Cookin’ with Brass creates an unforgettable live music experience. Their genre-bending performances combine bold horn arrangements, street-beat rhythms, and infectious energy that bring every event to life.
Known for their dynamic stage presence and crowd-pleasing performances, the band has become a sought-after act at festivals, community celebrations, corporate events, and gala evenings across British Columbia. Recent appearances include the Vancouver Symphony Day of Music, Granville Block Party, Surrey Canada Day, the Hyack Festival, Mission Twilight Concert Series, and Sounds of Summer in Surrey. They have also performed at major events such as the Harrison Festival of the Arts, Surrey Fusion Festival, Harmony Arts Festival, Hats Off Day, and many more.

Band: Willoughby Ridge Band

Willoughby Ridge is a local string band with roots in Langley and Maple Ridge, performing an eclectic blend of traditional and contemporary music inspired by bluegrass, country, folk, and roots traditions. Their repertoire draws from beloved classics, contemporary singer-songwriters, and original compositions written by members of the band.
At the heart of their music are stories that reflect the shared experiences of everyday life—its joys and hardships, memories and hopes, sorrows and celebrations. Through thoughtful songwriting and expressive performances, Willoughby Ridge creates a genuine connection with audiences of all ages.
Known for their rich multi-part vocal harmonies and intricate instrumental arrangements, the band showcases the talents of each member, with all contributing lead and harmony vocals. The result is a warm, engaging sound that honours traditional string band music while bringing a fresh and contemporary perspective to the stage.

Band: Sandy Gritt & The Stubborn Stains
Genre: Alternative, Folk, Pop, and Rock
About the Band:
Sandy Gritt & The Stubborn Stains play the kind of music that gets your feet moving while still giving you something to think about. Quirky, relatable, and full of character, their songs have evolved into a richer, more dynamic sound since longtime hockey teammate Todd Mumford joined on drums and backing vocals.
With bassist Kelly Whitehead and guitarist Kris Karra completing the lineup, the band’s three-part harmonies and layered instrumentation round out an eclectic and engaging sound.
Drawing inspiration from turn-of-the-century college radio favourites such as Wilco, Camper Van Beethoven, Ween, and Cake, The Stubborn Stains blend alternative rock influences with their own distinctive style. The band released their debut EP in summer 2021 and followed it with a live streaming session recorded at Little Red Sounds Studio in late 2022.

Johnson, and Bria Skonberg, Casey leads her quartet in performances that blend the elegance of the Jazz Golden Age with the lively spirit of New Orleans hot jazz. The result is a captivating musical experience filled with warmth, charm, and infectious energy.
As the founder and director of the acclaimed 11-woman big band The Leading Ladies, Casey has quickly established herself as one of Canada's rising jazz talents. Praised as “the future of arts leadership” by Juno-nominated bassist Jodi Proznick, she brings a distinctive combination of charisma, creativity, and musical excellence to every performance. Whether leading from the bandstand or behind the baton, Casey Thomas-Burns leaves audiences smiling and swinging along.

Band: Jazz Orchestra of the 49th Parallel

The Jazz Orchestra of the 49th Parallel (JO49) is a contemporary 17-piece instrumental big band featuring a dynamic ensemble of highly skilled musicians. Blending the traditions of classic big band jazz with fresh, innovative arrangements, the group delivers a rich and powerful sound shaped by brass, woodwinds, and a driving rhythm section.
Their repertoire spans classic swing alongside funk and Latin influences, creating a vibrant fusion of tradition and experimentation. Each performance showcases both precision and creativity, highlighting the versatility of the ensemble.

Morning Glories is a Fraser Valley-based modern folk trio celebrated for their stunning harmonies, evocative songwriting, and heartfelt storytelling. Comprised of Melinda Jackson, Kailee Fortin, and Candice Peters, the all-women ensemble creates music that explores themes of intergenerational connection, womanhood, resilience, and the beauty of the natural world.
Their songs embrace life's complexities, finding hope and beauty in challenging places. Much like the resilient morning glory flower that blooms in unexpected corners, their music transforms hardship into something meaningful and inspiring.
Built around the power of three voices, Morning Glories delivers captivating performances that are both intimate and unforgettable. Accompanied by organic rhythms created through stomps, snaps, and claps, and enriched by the members' classical vocal training, their sound is haunting, authentic, and deeply moving.

Band: Via Castello

About the Band:
Via Castello is a whimsical singer-songwriter blending diverse influences from their upbringing in a rural Italian village, and a small Canadian town. Come into their world as they process it through intimate story-telling, ear-catching melodies, and feel right at home within it.
They’re looking forward to releasing more music with their band, Luis DeJesus and Taylor Harrison on guitar, Brett Selinger on bass, and Jay Schreiber on drums. Peak Inside and Fragile, their first two projects, are the product of an incredibly supportive community, with even more new music coming soon.

Band: TK The Artist

About the Band:
TK is a WCMA-nominated Afro soul/Jazz fusion artist whose sound weaves together neo-soul, gospel, R&B, jazz, and Afrobeats into a smooth, groove-rich experience. Originally from Nigeria, TK brings a deep rhythmic connection to the stage, known for the rare ability to sing and play drums simultaneously creating a powerful and immersive live performance.
His genre-bending style and infectious energy have earned him spots at major festivals including the Tofino Jazz Festival, Khatsahlano Street Party, and Victoria’s Canada Day Celebration. He has also opened for acclaimed artists such as Cautious Clay, Earl Sweatshirt, and Bob Marley’s Wailers.
In 2025, TK released his full-length debut, A Journey Under the Stars, to a packed-out crowd at The Coda, following a run of well-received singles with producer Jayden Brown.

Band: Pen Pal Aloha

About the Band:
Pen Pal Aloha is a rock band from Vancouver, British Columbia. The trio of Steve David (vocals, guitar), Lee Huntington (bass), and Craig Marsden (drums) have been writing and honing their sound since early 2019, churning out hooky and anthemic songs that draw on the world of indie, punk, and alternative music from the 80s onward.

Band: Johnny Elvis & The Rockers

Johnny Elvis & The Rockers have been performing for the past five years. While still relatively new as a band, they consistently deliver a professional, engaging, and high-energy live show that connects with audiences.
Fronted by Johnny, an Elvis tribute artist with over eight years of professional experience, the group elevates the performance experience with a full live band. Together, they bring a rocking mix of Elvis classics along with a lively variety of 50s and 60s hits—creating a nostalgic, feel-good show that’s not to be missed.

Band: Murphy and the Cats
Genre: Jazz, Oldies
About the Band:
Murphy and the Cats are a talented duo of award-winning young musicians performing music from the 1920s and 1930s in full period costume. Featuring violin, percussion, guitar, ukulele, stand-up bass, and kazoo, they blend vintage-inspired music with vaudeville flair and engaging historical fun facts. These entertaining “hepcats” delight audiences as they transport them back in time with charm and energy.
The duo has performed to enthusiastic crowds at events including the Fort Langley Jazz Festival, Vancouver Jazz Festival (Band in a Boat), Burnaby Village Museum, Whistler Village and Children’s Festival, Steveston Salmon Festival, Comox Nautical Days, Burnaby Summer Stages Festival, Ladner May Days, Cypress Mountain, and more.
Performers Milan Stanga and Jaiden Christie began playing together in elementary school and now study jazz at university. Both are recipients of the Fort Langley Jazz Festival Rising Jazz Star Award (2023, 2024), with extensive experience performing across a wide range of genres and ensembles.

Band: Exit 30

The lineup features AJ Lontayao (guitar/vocals), Kevin Johnstone (bass), Lucas Murray (drums), Eli Rosenthal (keys/vocals), Willum Ashurst (keys), and Finley Kyle (guitar). Every member contributes vocals, creating rich harmonies and dynamic arrangements that elevate their sound.
Regular performers across Vancouver Island and select Lower Mainland venues, Exit 30 delivers consistent, engaging shows that connect with diverse audiences. With new original music in development and an expanding performance schedule, the band continues to build momentum as one of the Island’s rising rock acts.

Band: West My Friend

In the modern musical landscape, it’s rare to hear something as fully realized as Cascadian folk duo West My Friend—a sound that is layered, symphonic, baroque, and mysterious in its own winking way, while still carrying an edge of fragility. Simple may be safe, but their music proves that complex, intricate arrangements are far more rewarding.
Steeped in the visual and cultural landscape of Western Canada, West My Friend are veterans of the Victoria music scene. Their Independent Music Awards–nominated fourth album, In Constellation, continues their evolution in crafting achingly poignant folk music—this time supported by a full symphony orchestra. The result is richly layered yet lighthearted, intricate yet accessible, melancholic yet optimistic.
Blending grassroots guitar, accordion, mandolin, orchestral instrumentation, and interweaving vocal harmonies, In Constellation (produced by Joby Baker and co-produced/arranged by Adrian Dolan) expands the band’s sonic palette into bold new territory. Songs explore themes of anxiety, belonging, and human connection, with shifting dynamics and cinematic arrangements where strings and brass swell, collapse, and re-emerge in constant motion.
With over 800 performances and extensive touring experience, West My Friend continues to redefine folk music with a sound that feels both deeply familiar and entirely unexpected.

Band: Andrew Michael Blues Band

Led by Andrew Michael Zaghloul, winner of the 2024 Fraser Valley Music Awards Blues Artist of the Year, Andrew Michael Blues Band is blazing stages throughout the Fraser Valley. The group recently released their self-titled original blues rock album in February 2026, recorded at Marpole Studio in Langley, BC with acclaimed engineer Rob Begg (KISS, Tom Petty).
Featuring Don Addley on harmonica, Ron Johnson on bass, and Kevin Rush on drums, the band delivers a no-frills blues rock sound rooted in authenticity and energy. With every performance, Andrew Michael Blues Band continues to grow its fanbase and build momentum across the region.

Originally honing their craft through well-loved cover songs, the group has since shifted to performing original music exclusively. Known for their groovy, laid-back feel and engaging live performances, KatMoon brings a warm, harmony-driven energy to every stage, connecting with audiences through heartfelt songwriting and a shared love of storytelling through song, rooted in authentic musicianship and natural chemistry between members.

Band: The Boytles

About the Band:
The Boytles are a Vancouver-based band who have been performing together since they were school-aged musicians. Much like the legendary Fab Four, their long-standing friendship and musical collaboration create a natural chemistry both on stage and with their audiences, resulting in engaging, high-energy performances filled with personality and charm.
Over the years, The Boytles have built an extensive performance history across British Columbia and beyond. Their credits include appearances at Comox Nautical Days, Gabriola Island Concert on the Green, Coquitlam Kaleidoscope Festival, Coquitlam Canada Day celebrations, Burnaby Village Museum events, Trout Lake Summer Concert Series, Cypress Mountain, Boundary Bay Airport events, Burnaby Summer Concert Series and Burnaby Summer Stages, Cambie Village Business Association events, Ladner Pioneer May Days, and the Aurora Festival.
Internationally, they have also performed at the International Speed Skating Championships in 2025 in Hamar, Norway. In addition, the group has shared their music in educational and collaborative settings, including performances at Lord Byng Secondary School alongside the Lord Byng Symphony Orchestra, band, and choir, as well as numerous private events.
With a reputation for versatility, professionalism, and audience connection, The Boytles continue to bring their distinctive sound and spirit to festivals, community events, and special occasions.
