BC Youth Week is a provincial celebration of youth held annually during the first week of May. It is a week of fun filled interaction and a celebration intended to build a strong connection between youth and their communities. This event is intended to highlight the interests, accomplishments, and diversity of youth across the province.

Girls Social with Encompass

May 1, 5:00pm to 7:30pm. Drop-In. Crafts, Snacks, Chats. Repeat. Facilitated by City and Encompass staff. Just remember...Girls only!

Dodgeball and Pizza Night

May 2, 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Pre-registration required. A fun night of dodgeball and pizza to celebrate youth week.

Free Comic Book Day Party at FVRL

May 3, 11:00am to 4:00pm. Drop-In. Come in to get comic books, enjoy pizza, video games and more... all for free!

Youth Night BBQ with Encompass

May 3, 6:00pm to 9:30pm. Drop-In. The entire centre is open for Youth Only. Gym, Weight Room, Games Room, Arts and Crafts, and Food. There's something for everyone!

One Day Chef: Youth Week Special

May 5, 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Pre-registration required. Learn how to cook or bake something special in this special FREE one day chef class to celebrate Youth Week.

Basketball 3-Point Shooting Contest

May 6, 3:15pm to 5:15pm. Drop-In to participate in our youth week 3-point shooting contest and attempting to make as many 3-point shots as possible to win prizes!

UNO Tournament

May 7, 5:30pm to 7:00pm. Drop-In. Are you a board game enthusiast or just curious to explore the world of tabletop games? Come play, strategize, snack, and make new friends in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Gymnasium Drop-In Sports

Join us during youth week to participate in our open gym program; each date listed will feature a different sport. Program is free play and intermural, no instruction provided; all equipment is available for use.

Unlimited Access for Youth Week

With a valid Youth Week Activity Pass, youth have unlimited access to both the games room and the weight room (age restrictions apply) at Timms Community Centre.

Games Room

A drop-in, hang out place for the young & young at heart. Room features table tennis, board games, indoor pool, air hockey,  video games, and more. 

Hours:
Monday to Thursday, 6:00am-9:00pm
Friday, 6:00am-8:00pm
Saturday, 8:00am-6:00pm
Sunday, 8:00am-8:00pm

Weight Room

Our weight room has all of the equipment and support you need to get fit. Youth 13 to 15 years old must be accompanied by an adult (19+) or have completed a Youth Weight Room Orientation.

Monday to Friday, 8:00am-10:00pm
Saturday, 8:00am-6:00pm
Sunday, 8:00am-8:00pm
