Langley, B.C. [December 16, 2024] – The popular Choose to Move Program designed for those 55 and older is returning to Timms Community Centre this winter! Choose to Move is a free and flexible program that helps participants integrate physical activity into their daily lives with the support and motivation they need to succeed. This exciting program empowers individuals to take charge of their health, meet new friends, and make positive changes at their own pace.
Program Details:
- Required Choose to Move Information Session: Saturday, January 18, 2025
- Choose to Move Program Dates: February 1 – March 29, 2025
- Location: Timms Community Centre, 20399 Douglas Crescent, Langley, BC
This unique program with limited spaces includes one-on-one training and consultation with a certified instructor to develop a personalized activity program that works for you.
This is not a fitness class! You choose your activities and your schedule to incorporate activities that you enjoy.
Participants will also participate in eight group meetings, where they connect with their peers to share progress, stay accountable, and explore various health and wellness topics.
“Choose to Move isn’t just about getting active or making friends; it’s about empowering people with the tools to take charge of their health and well-being,” said Joanie Sims Gould, Executive Director of the Active Aging Society. It is a free, flexible, sustainable approach tailored to each participant’s lifestyle, preferences, and needs whether they are 55 or 95.”
Thanks to the continued support of the Active Aging Society, Langley City staff, and the Province of British Columbia, Choose to Move remains a free, accessible program for residents across the province.
