Langley City Remembrance Day ceremony – honouring service and sacrifice

Date

Langley City invites residents and visitors to gather at the Douglas Park Cenotaph on Wednesday, November 11, for the annual Remembrance Day ceremony.

Each year, on the eleventh day of the eleventh month, Canadians come together to remember those who served and sacrificed for our country and to recognize those who continue to serve. At 11:00 am, the community will pause together in silence to honour their courage and sacrifice.

“Remembrance Day is a time for our community to come together and reflect on the sacrifices made by those who served our country,” said Mayor Delaney Mack. “Each year, gathering at the cenotaph reminds us that the freedoms we enjoy today came at a great cost. We have a responsibility to remember those who served, honour their stories and recognize the people who continue to serve our country today.”

Local dignitaries, representatives from the RCMP and Fire Rescue, community organizations and residents will gather to pay their respects. Everyone is welcome to attend.
