Conferment of the Freedom of the City to Former Councillor Gayle Martin

Council formally conferred the Freedom of the City, the highest honour that a city can bestow upon an individual, on former Councillor Gayle Martin, who served on Langley City Council for 32 consecutive years, from 1990 to 2022, longer than any other elected official in its history.

Bylaw 3235 - Subdivision and Development Servicing Bylaw Amendment

Council gave final reading to Subdivision and Development Servicing Bylaw, No. 3126, Amendment No. 1, 2023, No. 3235 which adds wording to the City's Subdivision and Development Servicing Bylaw, to provide better clarity on the City's requirements when works and services are provided by developers and to update the Equivalent Development Units Table to reflect the new land-use designations in the City's Official Community Plan.

Latecomer Policy CO-82

Council approved Policy CO-82 Latecomer Policy in order to facilitate payment to developers who have paid for infrastructure that benefit future developers in the area of their initial development.

Public Notice of Failure to File Campaign Financial Disclosure Statement

Council received a report from the City's Chief Election Officer providing notice of a candidate in the 2022 Local Government Election who failed to file their campaign financial disclosure statement and is therefore disqualified from running in the 2026 Local Government Election.

UBCM Poverty Reduction Planning and Action Stream 2 Funding Application

Council passed a resolution supporting staff’s grant application to the UBCM Poverty Reduction Planning and Action Stream 2 Funding to support the ongoing work of the Poverty Reduction Task Group to begin implementation of the Living Well in Langley, A Poverty Reduction Strategy.
