Langley City’s McBurney Plaza Christmas Display: A Green, Fun Holiday Celebration

Langley City’s McBurney Plaza shines this holiday season with a festive and eco-friendly Christmas display. The stunning winter wonderland brings seasonal cheer and contributes to Langley’s urban forest, with plans to replant the native trees and shrubs in the spring.

  •  16 large potted Douglas Fir trees
  • 5 cedar trees, and dogwood trees
  • 58 snowberries
  • Refaced Hunter Park-milled tree fencing
  • Local artist Judy’s Art has designed whimsical cut-out figures to create perfect photo opportunities for families.
  • 8-foot by 6-foot presents
  • Repurposed old rope lighting
  • Repurposed mulch covering
  • Used for weed control and added safety benefits
  • Repurposed benches

Planning began in late September, with a collaborative effort from Langley’s Engineering Parks Department to design a space that could spark joy, promote togetherness, and showcase environmental responsibility. With this display, Langley proves that creativity and care can make for a greener, merrier holiday season for all.
