We are hosting this vigil at Douglas Park to stand in solidarity with the community of Tumbler Ridge during an unimaginable time of loss. Our hearts are with the families, friends, first responders, and every resident whose sense of safety and peace has been shaken. Even from miles away, we want the people of Tumbler Ridge to know they are not alone — their grief is shared, their community is supported, and their loved ones are deeply mourned.
This tragedy has touched close to home. Among the lives taken was a former Langley resident whose life mattered deeply and whose loss is felt here as well. As a community, we gather to honour her memory and the memories of all those lost — to hold space for grief, to offer compassion, and to remind one another of the strength found in coming together.
Vigil Schedule
5:00 PM – Arrival & Community Connection
Guests are welcome to arrive, light candles, and gently connect with one another.
6:00 PM – Moment of Silence
We will gather together for a shared moment of silence in honour of the lives lost and in solidarity with the Tumbler Ridge community.
6:05 PM – 7:00 PM – Community Gathering
Quiet reflection, connection, and support as we stand together in remembrance.
