Let’s Chat, Langley City! Open House Returns March 3 with Opportunities to Connect Directly with Staff and Council

Date

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Langley City, B.C. — Residents are invited to take part in the Let’s Chat, Langley City! Open House on Tuesday, March 3 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Coast Langley City Hotel & Convention Centre (20393 Fraser Highway). Previously known as the City’s neighbourhood meetings, this event offers residents a meaningful opportunity to speak directly with City staff and members of Council, ask questions, and learn about a wide range of initiatives shaping Langley City’s future.

“This event is about opening the door for conversation,” says Francis Cheung, the City’s CAO. “It’s a chance for residents to hear directly from the people working on City projects, ask questions, and help shape the community we’re building together.”

This year’s event highlights community safety, with stations hosted by:
  • Fire Rescue Service
  • Bylaw Enforcement
  • Langley RCMP
  • Staff supporting the Citizens' Assembly on Community Safety

Residents can learn how these teams support a safe, welcoming, and vibrant community, and how they can get involved in supporting safety in their own neighbourhoods.

Invest Langley City will also be featured as a stand‑alone station, giving residents a look at the City’s long‑term plan to bring new community facilities to life, including a future Aquatic Centre and a Performing Arts and Cultural Centre.

The open house will also include stations from a variety of City departments and community partners, along with a dedicated Kids Zone offering activities to help keep children engaged while families explore the event.

Other participating groups include:
  • Engineering, Parks & Environment
  • Development Services
  • Recreation, Culture & Community Services
  • Communications
  • Social Planning
  • Financial Services
  • Emergency Planning
  • Langley Animal Protection Society (LAPS)
  • Langley City Library
  • City committees representing accessibility, environment, arts, culture, and crime prevention.

Throughout the evening, residents are encouraged to visit the areas of interest to them, learn about upcoming and ongoing projects, share feedback, and connect with City staff and Council members. Comment and feedback forms will be available for anyone wishing to provide written input.
