Langley City is located in a vibrant and busy city. It has 17 beautiful parks and large green areas, perfect for relaxation. Additionally, there are 10 scenic trails for walking or hiking. The city also has the Nicomekl Floodplain, a natural area loved by locals and visitors.

 

Cleaner Parks and Healthier Environment: Langley City Launches Pilot Project to Manage Dog Waste Effectively

To reduce landfill waste, improve cleanliness, and enhance services, Langley City has launched a pilot project with specialized dog waste bins at 18 trailhead locations throughout Langley City trails and four dog off-leash parks.

Responsible Drinking in Parks Program

Responsible alcohol consumption is permitted in specific areas at 3 parks - City Park, Douglas Park, and Mcburney Plaza between June 1 and October 31.

Adults may consume alcohol safely and responsibly from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm from Thursday to Saturday and 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on Sundays at designated sites within the parks, as shown in green in the maps above, with posted signage permitting consumption. Alcohol consumption is still not allowed in areas in those parks not indicated on the map. The only exception is for activities that have a festival and event licence.

The designated park areas are “first-come, first-serve” sites.

Our City’s parks are valuable to every citizen. Please respect the peace of others around you, ensure you leave the site in good condition and drink responsibly. Please follow all regulations set out in the City of Langley’s bylaws.
